Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Planning Specialist is responsible for coordinating between corporate planning and mill operations to do all production scheduling for the paper machine and equipment.   Ensure all vitals supplies are ordered and received to meet production requirements. Maintains accurate inventory of finished product.

REPORTING

The Planning Specialist reports to the Logistics Manager.  

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinates with operations and corporate to ensure productions planning needs are met
  • Assist Logistics Manager in planning space utilization to meet prescribed cost standards
  • Ensure proper stock rotation to include off site locations
  • For new or untested vital supplies, coordinates and evaluates trials through user departments and obtains their approval for regular use
  • The Planning Specialist is responsible to ensure that packaging materials incoming to the Southern Manufacturing Division meet the quality standards inherent in the established specifications.
  • Conduct weekly meeting to review production planning schedule.
  • Responsible for planning the production of parent roll quantities and coordinating the wrapping and shipping of parent rolls to other Kruger facilities and other off-site warehouses
  • Manages vitals to include monitoring and ordering to ensure adequate supplies to support converting
  • Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed
  • Manage inventory process ensuring accuracy through physical counts, cycle counts and reconciliation
  • Every employee must implement Kruger environmental policy in their daily tasks. In particular, employees are responsible to abide by legal and corporate environmental requirements and must adhere to all environmental procedures. Every employee is responsibly to report all environmental incidents and any potential environmental hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School/GED required with preference for a Associates Degree in Business or related field
  • 2-3 years of Planning experience required in a manufacturing environment
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Plan and organize your own work activities, manage work time efficiently, work independently
  • To have proven complex analytical skills as well as ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions
  • Partner with managers and employees to positively impact business results
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases
  • Consistent track record for executing performance objectives an delivering results
  • Maintaining high energy as well as a pleasant and professional demeanor
  • Key Competencies including: candor/integrity, influencing & building partnerships, team work, accountability, problem solving, and customer focus
