WHAT YOU WILL DO 

The Corporate Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for financial planning, forecasting and internal management reporting and analysis at the Corporate level. This includes preparing the Annual Budget and Latest Estimates (LE’s) and related financial statements, preparing monthly senior management reporting and analysis, and supporting Finance Systems development.

The Corporate Financial Analyst reports to the Manager, Corporate Financial Planning, and Analysis. 

 

Corporate Financial Planning

  1. Preparation and coordination of the Company budget and latest forecasts, including planning timetables, organizing presentations, financial statements, and financial analysis.
  2. Work closely with the Manager, Corporate FP&A, and Business Unit Finance Leads to analyze budgets and forecasts.
  3. Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts and identify opportunities and risks for the Company.
  4. Work with the Manager, Corporate FP&A to move the Company towards the use of rolling forecasts.
  5. In conjunction with the Manager, Corporate FP&A develop long-range 5-year financial plans as part of the Strategic Planning process.
  6. Assist with the preparation of budget and forecasts for legal entity views related to bank reporting/relationships. 

Corporate Reporting and Analysis

  1. Prepare analysis of monthly Total Company results against budget and forecast.
  2. Prepare the monthly financial reporting package for the Leadership Team.
  3. Prepare Business Unit reporting from SAP and distribute to the Business Unit Finance Leads.
  4. Work closely with the Manager, Corporate FP&A, and Business Unit Finance Leads to develop and maintain repeatable inputs that support analysis for the monthly, quarterly and annual results and budgets. Extend this into “What-If” financial modeling.

Finance Systems

  1. Assist with the financial system reporting requirements relating to financial planning and analysis including software development and implementation of new IT tools.
  2. Work with the Manager, Corporate FP&A to ensure the Company and Business Units maintain consistent data across budget, forecast and actual results.
  3. Create and maintain reports required to meet the reporting needs identified by the Finance organization and Leadership team.
  4. Assist with the implementation of Business Intelligence IT tools for Finance.
  5. Provide training as required for users of the Business Finance systems.   

 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING 

  • University degree in Business/Commerce, Finance or Accounting
  • CPA designation required or in progress
  • Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience
  • Must have an interest and aptitude for Business Intelligence systems
  • Must possess good analysis and documentation skills including proficiency in using Excel and a willingness to learn SAP
  • Must be a quick learner and possess strong critical thinking skills
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to deal with a variety of people
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment is preferred
