QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally, the candidate should hold a technical degree and have five years' experience supervising a team in a production environment.
- A combination of training, experience and achievements relevant to the position may be considered equivalent to skills desired.
- A human approach in line with the organization's role and values.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing practices and procedures aimed at operational excellence.
- A dynamic personality, capable of asserting oneself as a professional in one's field.
- Communication and analytical skills, and a good sense of humor (a definite asset).
- Ability to manage several issues simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Utilize data to make decisions and document performance of teams, individuals, and assets.
Special Specifications:
Work on plant floor and travel throughout the plant.
Work in a dusty and noisy environment.
Set the Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
PPE safety boots, earplugs, high vis clothing, head protection, and safety glasses when moving around the plant.

Plant Shift Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent provides daily support to all teams involved in plant operations. They are the point of contact, reference, support, and priority setter to maximize the efficiency of the operation. Individual must ensure mill safety, environmental, and quality standards are always maintained. Collaboration and synergy are required with all work and management teams.
Accountabilities
- Provide leadership in EHS compliance by acting as a role model for responsible behavior.
- Promote the adoption of safe work practices, identify task-related hazards, eliminate or control hazards to provide an accident/incident-free environment, and audit practices and/or regulations.
- Initiate accident/incident investigation and analysis.
- Take charge of activities during a major/emergency event at the plant (fire, water damage, work accident, PMU, etc.).
- Compile information to give detailed shift reports at the end of each shift for activities that occurred knowing targets were met and/or opportunities being addressed.
- Follow production of the assets through the shift to ensure proper attention is given to those assets which are falling behind on production.
- Coordinate production and repair activities on given shifts, in collaboration with given asset priorities, and through team captains, crew leaders, and managers.
- Develop internal team autonomy through coaching and mentoring.
- Help work with Team Captains and Leads in the planning and execution of production and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate in evaluating the performance and output of operations/maintenance employees (safety, quality, productivity) and collaborate with line managers in deviation situations.
- In collaboration with team captains. Team leads, and managers, identify the training needs of team members, set up and monitor personalized training programs, and evaluate skills acquired.
- Participate in the equipment lockout program by providing expertise and support during lockout activities (planning, preparation, execution, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with quality, product compliance, and environmental programs.
- Exhibit behavior that promotes and sustains a healthy, respectful work climate, free from any form of violence, harassment or discrimination.
- Identify opportunities to improve the department's activities to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Resolve staffing issues.
- Support activities related to the adaptation or introduction of new products
- Perform as a leader 24/7. Own your shift while setting the next shift up for success.
- Work with the Logistics Shift Supervisor to ensure customers received products on time as promised.
