RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment, as well as electrical power distribution to the mill and offices. They also oversee the safety, training and deployment of the department’s workforce. They are responsible for the tasks required to fully operate the computerized maintenance management system (SAP).

  • Ability to work as leader in a team and collaborate with various departments to ensure continuity of operations
  • Guide your actions and strategies in line with our management philosophy of team autonomy, versatility, flexibility, teamwork, collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Act as supervisor and perform related tasks, such as generating daily work schedules
  • Perform in-depth analyses of various electrical problems, resolve them and update production equipment plans
  • Act as the contact for high-voltage power at the mill
  • Help resolve equipment efficiency and improvement issues
  • Work order planning
  • Conduct shut down planning meetings with all other areas
  • Update location, equipment (including their documentation) and assembly of bills of material
  • Order and maintain shop supplies and tool inventories
  • Create and issue permits as required (i.e. lock outs, confined space entry, hot work, elevated heights)
  • Active involvement in the safety program and employee observation.

Job Requirements:

  • Hold a college diploma in electrical power and instrumentation or a related field
  • Hold an electrical licence (obtained or in the process of being obtained).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (a definite asset)
  • Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley or others)
  • Ability to work as leader in a team and collaborate with various departments to ensure continuity of operations
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate work with maintenance and production teams.

The starting range for this role is $96,000 to $115,000 or higher, depending on your experience.
