Job Requirements of Talent Acquisition Specialist:
- Bachelor degree in a related field (Human Resources or Business) strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a unionized manufacturing facility
- Experience with recruitment software/computer programs including Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably CareerBuilder
- Focus on building strong relationships with candidates and team members
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Plan and organize your own work activities, manage work time efficiently, work independently
- Computer systems ability including Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases

Reporting to the HR General Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist manages all aspects of recruitment and staffing for all positions across the New Westminster Mill.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for supporting the full recruitment cycle for all positions:
- Advertising medias – social media, radio, job-posting sites, etc.
- Manage Job Fairs
- Screening of candidates
- Managing and conducting employment testing
- Interview processes
- Manage the Background check process and pre-employment/post-offer drug tests
- Leverage sourcing strategies to maintain a strong flow of candidates and tap into passive candidate markets
- Partner with managers and employees to ensure correct skills and experiences are targeted when selecting employment candidates
- Maintain an awareness of emerging trends and best practices in recruitment, talent acquisition and HR
- Responsible for other projects and tasks as assigned
