Maintenance Supervisor

Kruger Products | Produits Kruger New Westminster, British Columbia (Onsite) Full-time

Reporting to the Main Shop Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor manages and coordinates the day-to-day activities of mechanical maintenance workers in order to optimize the reliability of production equipment. Primarily accountable for maintaining equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensure minimum equipment downtime.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise a talented group of unionized tradespeople and labourers in the maintenance of equipment and machines across the mill
  • Responsible for supervising contractors for repairs and maintenance beyond scope of work force. Oversees work performed by contractors to ensure quality workmanship and specification compliance
  • Ensure that every effort is made to maximize maintenance efficiency and correct production issues
  • Provide technical support to the mechanical maintenance team in order to correct and resolve the various problems that may affect production
  • Monitor a budget and work to reduce maintenance costs
  • Know, respect and enforce safe work procedures. Identify and communicate to the mechanical maintenance team the hazards and risks present in their workplace. Participate in temporary or permanent corrective actions. Report all incidents and accidents to the Maintenance Manager
  • Apply Kruger's environmental policy in its day-to-day tasks. Comply with environmental, legal and corporate requirements and follow related procedures
  • Work closely with operations and scheduler to help prioritize work flow and teams

Job Requirements:

  • University degree/technical diploma or Journeyperson trades certification in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years’ leadership/supervisory experience in a maintenance role or equivalent
  • A proven ability to provide leadership and direction within a Maintenance department (this includes ability to manage within the Collective Agreements or Terms and Conditions, Plant’s and HR policies and guidelines)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

The starting range for this role is $72,000 to $96,000 or higher, depending on your experience.
