Quality Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Supervisor provides leadership to the Quality Auditors/Technicians to ensure to ensure that all quality assurance program requirements are consistently achieved with a sense of urgency at the facility.

REPORTING

The Quality Supervisor reports to the Product Development & Quality Manager

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the Quality Management System through the facility:
    • Reviews all finished product data entries to ensure accuracy, testing frequency, and specification compliance
    • Conducts statistical analysis and data reviews for all major product families to ensure capability of customer specifications
    • Audits the PM testing results to ensure compliance with testing frequency, specifications, and accuracy
    • Ensures correction actions are completed for any gaps in testing frequency or retains
    • Conducts weekly furnish audits, as well as other corporate requirements, as required
  • Provides leadership, direction, and coaching for Quality Auditors, Technicians, and Coordinator, including all Empower requirements, including performance reviews, development plans, and coaching discussions.
  • Leads all internal and external audits, such as ISO, GMP, FSC, etc.
    • Ensures all training is completed to meet audit requirements
    • Conducts GMP monthly audits to monitor compliance
    • Manages all of the corrective actions found during internal audits
    • Assists in documentation control updates
    • Drives corrective actions for any findings to ensure future compliance
  • Coordinates cross-auditing efforts with Central Lab.
  • Completes weekly, monthly, and annual reporting, as required
  • Responsible for managing the COPQ process and data accuracy
  • Provides leadership and direction to Quality Coordinator for all sample order shipment requests to ensure timely and accurate response to meet customer needs, including Sales and trial samples
  • Collaborates with the Quality and Training Coordinators and provides direction on the quality training across the facility. Responsibilities include:
    • Collaborates with Training Manager to ensure proper training of all new hires, including supervisors, asset leaders, and operations team members.
    • Monitors training completion and requirements across the facility
    • Generates and updates training materials, including SOP’s, presentations, etc.
    • Develops new workmanship and testing procedures
    • Update and maintains all quality training materials based on current corporate standards
  • Responsible for proper maintenance, functionality, and operation testing lab and equipment:
    • Leads corrective action plans and documentation related to exceptions on lab verifications and calibrations
    • Ensures all equipment is operating at the required centerlines/settings to meet corporate guidelines
    • Collaborates with Quality Engineer and Quality Coordinator on functionality and corrective actions.
  • Provides support or coverage to Quality Engineer for key tasks, as required
  • Partners with Process Engineers for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Actively participates in Waste reduction efforts through daily testing, communication, and disposition of the TAD and LDC reject corner
  • Manages the QTP system:
    • Leads product incident problem solving resolution identifies root causes to all product quality incidents.
    • Collaborates with necessary departments to quickly understand issue.
    • Ensures proper investigation, documentation, and completion in the QTP system
  • Partners with Logistics team to ensure all Finished Product holds are tracked, dispositioned, and resolved in a timely matter.
  • Audits all QMS testing procedures annually to ensure accuracy, correcting as required
  • Understand and follows all safety procedures, always wears proper PPE
  • Leads in investigation of customer and consumer complaints, as required
  • Accepts special tasks as assigned
  • Every employee must implement Kruger environmental policy in their daily tasks. In particular, employees are responsible to abide by legal and corporate environmental requirements and must adhere to all environmental procedures. Every employee is responsibly to report all environmental incidents and any potential environmental hazards

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bacherlor’s Degree in related sciences, Chemical sciences, Chemical Engineering
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of demonstrated work experience in manufacturing environment preferably in a paper, tissue industry
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts, including certifications of white, yellow, or green belt
  • Knowledge of GMPs or ISO 9001
  • Experience with SAP or other systemsMulti task in a high-volume environment, anticipate production and drive improvement opportunities
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with production management.
  • Provide consultation, coaching, facilitation or teaching with employees.
  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and works to specific goals and objectives
  • Provide direct daily supervision of quality personnel to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the lab
  • Ability to change and adapt to new situations
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Promote change and growth as key to sustained success and a way of life establishes trust with employees through support, goal setting, action planning, and follow up
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable CMMS, Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases
  • Understanding and experience with effective conflict resolution.
