Occupational Health Nurse

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing occupational health services to employees across this industrial environment. This position will work closely with all departments to ensure seamless disability case management, first aid response, and overall support for all occupational health initiatives across the mill.

Job Duties:

  • Manage all medical absence files (short term and long term disability)
  • Coordinate medical accommodations and return to work programs
  • Oversee pre-employment medical assessments for all new hires
  • Participate in the development and implementation of prevention and well-being activities for workers (vaccination campaigns, approval of new hazardous material products, etc.)
  • Provide advise and resources to employees, including assisting them through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Oversee the first aid program, monitor first aid and safety kits (sufficient quantity, expiry date, etc.) and ensures the proper functioning of the various equipment and materials
  • Participate in the development and implementation of prevention activities for workers
  • Share information with unionized employees and managers about the various OHS events

  • Licenced RN or LPN in British Columbia
  • Minimum 2- 5 years experience, in an Industrial setting is an asset
  • Certification of Advanced First Aid
  • Experience in Disability Case Management is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication
