You will plan and carry out papermaking and converting technology development trials in the various manufacturing and converting divisions to support the company's overall product development program. You will lead the application of new or improved technology. Duties also include:

  • Plan and coordinate all papermaking and converting development activities in our new manufacturing facility in Sherbrooke

  • Perform detailed report writing and results analysis for all trial work performed, in accordance with our product development process

  • Provide input to any technology decisions related to the execution of the company’s strategic plan

  • Keep up to date on main technological innovations with suppliers (equipment OEM, Clothing, chemicals, embossing rolls, etc.)

  • Act as a problem-solving resource for our papermaking & converting operations

  • Identify and present cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and quality enhancement opportunities to the organization for evaluation and possible implementation

  • Support the local scientific research & experimental development coordinators in making sure that all his/her trial activities are accurately documented and tracked, to ensure that requirements are met and adhered


  • Engineering degree and several years’ experience in tissue manufacturing in a key technical/management role
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage several projects concurrently.
  • Good understanding of statistical and financial analysis
  • Good understanding of the North and South American tissue market
  • Ability to interact well with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to travel in support of other divisions
  • Computer skills
  • Fluent in French and English languages.
